At a faculty level, there are ongoing discussions regarding promotions data (in particular at a professorial level), semesterisation, Covid-19 recovery, and childcare funds within research grants. 

There is ongoing work on our Athena Swan application. The staff and student culture surveys will be distributed again shortly. EDC decided on our new action plan themes which will focus around:

  • Department culture (inclusivity, post-covid hybrid working, class, uneven workloads, collaboration)
  • Representation (opportunities to represent SEI-Y/DEG)
  • Promotions and Career (including PSS promotions, secondments, regrading roles)
  • Communications 
  • Disability (staff and students)
  • UG and PGT students
