Bullying and Harassment

The Environment Department is committed to creating a fair, welcoming and inclusive environment where bullying and harassment are unacceptable and where members of its community treat each other with dignity and respect. As part of this commitment, we are striving to raise the profile of both the University’s code of conduct for staff and students, as well as the procedures for reporting and remedying issues. If you feel that you have experienced bullying or harassment staff are encouraged to talk to the HoD, deputy HoD or Departmental Administrator in the first instance.  The HR webpages have links to sources of support for staff experiencing a range of workplace stressors.

The University has procedures in place for reporting and dealing with harassment and bullying:

One-to-one support can be provided by the University’s harassment advisors:

You are encouraged to anonymously report any incidences of bullying and harassment via the harassment monitoring form. This will help the University to identify any patterns and take action to prevent further incidents.

If you need to support a student who has experienced bullying or harassment guidance and procedures can be accessed from here:

More information on where to get advice and help can be found on the posters in all toilets in the department.
