Action on the Climate & Ecological Emergency: Open Letter
Staff and students at the University of York have written open letter to the Vice Chancellor, titled Action on the Climate & Ecological Emergency: The University's Role and Responsibility.
The authors and co-signatories would love for as many people as possible to take 5 minutes to:
Read the letter here (http://tinyurl.com/UoYClimateAction )
If you support its aims sign it via the form at https://forms.gle/hRbqkt9BXpY8HxjG7
Share it with anyone who you think would support it
A range of student, staff and alumni signing in support would signal that there is appetite and motivation for change. It also might be a mechanism to help bring together people from across the university to support one another's efforts.
P.S. To give you a flavour of what we have written the six key areas we have highlighted where we feel greater leadership is needed are:
Education fit for a transforming world.
Research that informs and accelerates transformation.
Greater ambition and progress on sustainability targets.
Cutting the ties: partnerships and investments.
Transparency, accountability and democracy
Facilitating academic advocacy and activism
