Covid-19 information
Important information
Briefly:
- Do not come to campus - if you have symptoms of Covid 19 infection, we strongly recommend you do not come to campus - work from home if you can
- Do not go to a GP surgery or hospital if you have an active Covid or suspected Covid infection - use NHS 111 for assistance
- Stay at home - to protect our University community and the wider population, stay at home if you have any symptomatic respiratory illness
Covid 19 symptoms:- a high temperature or shivering (chills) – a high temperature means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
- shortness of breath
- feeling tired or exhausted
- an aching body
- a headache
- a sore throat
- a blocked or runny nose
- loss of appetite
- diarrhoea
- feeling sick or being sick
Returning to campus:- If you have tested positive for Covid, stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days after the test (test day is day zero).
- example - if you test positive on a Friday, that is day zero. Day 5 is Wednesday and Thursday is the day you should return to campus (day 6) if you are well enough to do so.
