Your overall Year 1 mark will form part of the basis on which optional courses in Year 3 are allocated if they prove to be oversubscribed.

When you are in Year 2, your marks for each course strand will be summarised on e:Vision. Three of the Year 1 course strands are 20-credit modules and two are 30-credit modules. To calculate your overall mark on the University's 0-100 scale, you need to weight these accordingly.

To do this, use the following formula:

OVERALL MARK = RM/6 + B&B/6 + P&C/6 + D&L/4 + SPA/4

The above formula will not be completely accurate, because e:Vision shows rounded marks for each course strand, but it is fine for giving you a clear idea as to how well you are doing.

To allow you to estimate your performance relative to other students, for the academic year 2012-2013 the mean Year 1 mark was 63.7, with SD 6.6 and range 45-80.
