Important information
  • Briefly:

    • Do not come to campus - if you have symptoms of Covid 19 infection, we strongly recommend you do not come to campus - work from home if you can
    • Do not go to a GP surgery or hospital if you have an active Covid or suspected Covid infection - use NHS 111 for assistance
    • Stay at home - to protect our University community and the wider population, stay at home if you have any symptomatic respiratory illness

    Covid 19 symptoms:


    • a high temperature or shivering (chills) – a high temperature means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
    • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
    • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
    • shortness of breath
    • feeling tired or exhausted
    • an aching body
    • a headache
    • a sore throat
    • a blocked or runny nose
    • loss of appetite
    • diarrhoea
    • feeling sick or being sick

    Returning to campus:
    • If you have tested positive for Covid, stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days after the test (test day is day zero).
    • example - if you test positive on a Friday, that is day zero. Day 5 is Wednesday and Thursday is the day you should return to campus (day 6) if you are well enough to do so.
