IT User accounts and KABA cards

If you have a visitor or an external examiner or other collaborator who requires access to University IT systems, such as shared Google Drives or the VLE etc, please email Dave Hay with the following details relating to your visitor.

This is also required as a first step if you have a visitor staying for longer than a week who needs a KABA card for building entry and access to library resources.

• First forename
• Surname
• Any other forenames
• Preferred name (known as)
• Title
• Alternative email address
• Date of birth
• Start date
• End date

Dave will then set up the account and inform them directly how to set up and secure their account and will also share the username with you to distribute/use as appropriate.

If you have a visitor who is staying for longer than a week who requires access to the Environment Building or University library resources, please see the information below.

The University card is a credit card sized card we are issuing to all members of staff, students and certain categories of associates. It has many functions including door access, library/printing card and sports centre card if required. Other functions will be added as other systems come online.

How the card will be issued

To request a new or replacement staff ID card please complete the Staff card request form.

Hosts can order a card for their visitor, or the visitor can request a card themselves once they have a username (as above) by completing the form.

Cards will not be issued until the form has been completed.

Do you require a photo?

The Department of Environment & Geography does not require a photo for new cards.
