How to create and populate the information button in Tableau desktop.

Step by step guide: 

  1. Create a new sheet

  2. Create a calculated field containing “i” only. It can be called ‘Info button’

  3. Add this calculated field to the Text mark in the marks card

  4. Click on Text in the marks card and select the three dots that appear next to the ‘Text:’ field

  5. In the text editor that appears, set the font to ‘Webdings’. This font appears as all symbols but can be searched for in the drop down fonts menu

  6. Set the size to 48

  7. Set the colour to York pink (#e31a82)

  8. Drag the sheet into the relevant spot in the dashboard and ensure it’s set to show ‘Entire view’
