Tip

Staff

No A travel log is required but no travel risk assessment is required needed for staff travelling to low risk travel areas. However, you will still need an activity risk assessment if you are performing any fieldwork such as face to face interviews, travelling to remote areas to undertake sampling and measurements etc.

Students

If you are a student travelling to a destination that is within the low risk category, then you will be required to complete both a travel log and a written travel risk assessment approved by your supervisor and then emailed to the Departmental Safety Advisor (environment-safety@york.ac.uk). You must then wait for an email confirmation from the HoD or DSA before travelling.
