[Financial Regulations Section 1112]University activities that generate income or cash must be accounted for properly and banked in a University of York bank account or petty cash on a timely basis. In no circumstances can income from University activities be banked or held by individual members of staff. [Financial Regulations Section 8 - Purchase cards can be used to purchase goods for University activities, and only by the person named on the card.

- Gifts eg flowers, vouchers, for members of staff leaving, birthdays, good performance or retiring from the University should not be purchased from University funds. [Financial Regulations Section 12]
- Equipment and assets bought by the University are the property of the University alone, regardless of the funding source. There There are rules to follow about recording and looking after University assets . and all departments need an equipment list.

- Staff can use the Speak-Up policy to raise genuine concerns or to disclose information which they believe may indicate malpracticeabout an actual or potential risk, fraud or other illegal or unethical conduct. Good practice is set out in the policies on bribery, fraud and whistleblowing.
