Open minds: exploring Open Educational Resources at York and beyond (Thursday 10 July, 2025)
Description
"Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning, teaching and research materials in any format and medium that reside in the public domain or are under copyright that have been released under an open licence, that permit no-cost access, re-use, re-purpose, adaptation and redistribution by others.” (UNESCO)
This Open Research at York discussion event presented work undertaken in the field of OER creation and reuse at the University of York, with guest speakers from the University of Sheffield. The discussion outlined ways in which academic staff have adopted and adapted OER in different teaching contexts, highlighting the various challenges and opportunities involved in their use across a broad range of disciplines.
