Preparing your students for studying at York
You may want to prepare your students for their study abroad experience in York. Therefore, we have put together the materials below to help you fully prepare the students for living and studying here in the UK. You will find lots of information about life in York, living with a host family and living in the UK in the website section below. We also have a prepared PowerPoint presentation about York, the university and our centre which you can go through with your students. You will also find a YouTube video version of this presentation below too which you can share with them. Finally, we have also designed some downloadable quizzes and worksheets for both lower and higher level students which you can use in a pre-departure workshop.
All the below websites have useful information for your students on living in York and the UK. Furthermore, the host family web pages will help students to understand what living with a British family might be like. It is highly recommend that you share and encourage your students to read these websites before their arrival.

Please share the host family web pages with your students. It will help you and them to understand more about life with a host family and what they can expect. You will also find a lot more information on homestay accommodation on this site.
