Facilities

Undergraduate and postgraduate

  • The Deborah Smith Teaching Building is the centrepiece for our student community and includes facilities such as:
    • study spaces like the Think Tank and Creative Lounge
    • teaching laboratories
    • computer rooms
    • flexible learning spaces
    • large capacity lecture theatres with replay technology

Postgraduate-specific

  • We have received Accreditation or Advanced Accreditation by the Royal Society of Biology for all of our degree programmes.
  • Biosciences Society - Student-led society which aims to bring people from all Biosciences degrees together through fun events, socials and excursions as well as guest lectures from speakers.
  • We are fully committed to the Athena SWAN Charter which recognises the advancement of gender equality: representation, progression and success for all and we are proud to have held an Athena SWAN Gold award since 2014.
  • All of our undergraduate programmes, including integrated Masters, are available with an optional extra year in industry.

  • Biology is at the heart of so many of the challenges that the world faces, and our aim is to tackle these through excellent bioscience education and world-class, impactful research.
