Access to laboratories and induction process

The information contained here is a guide to the steps you must take in order to be granted access to the Environment Building research laboratories

The general principles are that numbers are controlled in laboratories to ensure safe distancing and records are kept both for contact tracing but also to control numbers in lab spaces. The normal requirements to undergo induction and to produce approved risk and CoSHH assessments are still in place.

You are advised to:

  • wear a face covering in all parts of the laboratory wing
  • be vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2

You must not enter the building if the following apply:

  • you are suffering from symptoms of Covid-19
  • you have tested positive by PCR for Covid-19
  • you have been told to isolate by NHS test and trace

The process to follow is detailed below with links to specific documents and forms and these will follow or will be conducted along with discussions with your supervisor.

Finally...

and most importantly, introduce yourself to the technical staff so we can put a face to the name.
