The University of York encourages and supports staff and students across all disciplines to explore and engage with open research in their work, but the language used to describe different practices and principles can differ between disciplines and create confusion for the uninitiated. This session will provide a basic introduction to open research, with a focus on explaining the key terms and acronyms used throughout the discourse. This will also be an opportunity to discover how open research practices and principles are applied in the context of arts and humanities, social science, and sciences research at York.
