Undergraduate and postgraduate

  • The department is based in Vanbrugh College on Campus West.
  • A range of dedicated and advanced facilities, including a psycholinguistics lab, speech lab (articulograph and ultrasound) and a recording studio.

  • The Humanities Resource Centre is a community hub for cross-disciplinary research, and acts as both a work and social space for postgraduate researchers and academic staff. The space is also open to postgraduate-taught students to a certain extent (it's fine to advertise this on PGT pages).
  • Data Lab -  equipped with computers running various software that can be used to conduct data-oriented research, e.g. acoustic, corpus or statistical analysis. Can also be used for meetings and as a study space when available.
  • Forensics Lab - a dedicated lab space for use by Forensic Speech Science staff and students, where data can be stored securely.
  • Psycholinguistics Lab - equipped with computers running E-Prime and Matlab, which can be used to run audio and visual behavioural experiments.
