How to engage a temp

A temp can be engaged for up to 12 weeks on a full-time or part-time basis. The University temp pool should be used in the first instance, and you should use the temp request form to submit a request.

If there is no one suitable in the University temp pool, there are other approved suppliers:

Blue Arrow, Adecco, Brook Street, Manpower, Search Consultancy, Hays, Pertemps and Reed. Adecco is  is the top-ranked supplier on the framework which means you can appoint a temp directly from them without inviting the other suppliers to quote.

How to extend a temp's engagement

If you need to extend a temp's engagement beyond 12 weeks, you can use the direct appointment process to extend their engagement by up to 6 months. Beyond that, you would need to go to open recruitment.
