Work experience for students
Any work experience opportunities for students should be directed through NYBEP. The department can facilitate up to one lab-based and one office-based opportunity per year. The process is as follows:
  1. Student is given a list of work experience employers (supplied by NYBEP to each school).
  2. Student picks one and makes initial contact with employer to ask about details, dates etc
  3. If accepted by the Department, the student informs their school who will, in turn, alert NYBEP.
  4. Also, if accepted, we would expect this student work experience form to be completed by both the supervisor in the Department and the student, using this work experience guidance.
If you intend to support a work experience opportunity, please make sure to inform Dave (dave.hay@york.ac.uk), who can provide advice on H&S and risk assessment.
