What is it?
The IT in Research Showcase aims to bring together members of the University of York research community in an informal setting, with a view to facilitating experience and knowledge sharing.
...
There will be coffee/tea and biscuits available for both the presentations and the information sharing session, as well as a light lunch available between the presentations and information sharing session. If nothing else, you can come along to enjoy a free lunch and discuss interesting technologies with your peers!
Why are we doing this?
IT's importance within research continues to grow, and the rate of general technological developments matches and outstrips this growth. We believe that fostering an open and accessible knowledge exchange community could be beneficial to many, both in terms of exposing researchers to ideas and technologies that they otherwise wouldn't be exposed to and in terms of providing an informal forum within which all levels of IT discussion can flourish.
